I am a big fan of INFOMERCIALS. Yes, I admit it. So when I had a chance to play around with some MIGHTY MEND IT… I couldn’t resist! And you know what. This stuff is pretty cool. Now, I don’t know that I would repair my living room couch with it, but for fabric crafts and even scrapbooking using paper to ribbon or fabric, it was very effective! And hey… when ever I can have some “As Seen on TV” fun, I am all for it.

I will choose the winner of this first giveaway Tuesday June 30 at noon, so you have until then to enter!

There are two ways to enter…

Leave a comment below or if you are on TWITTER RT the post! We will be tweeting this giveaway to ALL of our CK Media TWITTER FEEDS so that is up to 10 chances to win. Be sure to follow your favorite magazine feed. (To find it, simply go to magazine site and click on the connect tab right above the sign in box!)

The good folks at Creating Keepsakes have a pretty sweet deal going on in the store! Get Easier-than-Ever Scrapbooking 1 for 50% off when you purchase Easier-than-Ever Scrapbooking 2. These idea books are ones you will refer to for years! I love that each idea has a “recipe” – made easy to follow. And don’t think that this is only for beginners, seasoned scrapbookers will find this book to be a great launching pad for more advaced techniques! So I thought I would share my 20 min. layout…

Supplies: cardstock, letter tile (Bazzill Basics)

I started by adhering all my pictures down. The strip of pictures on the left is adhered on the 4×12 strip of the same cardstock. (It is actually a flap that opens up to reveal journaling. )

To make this very simple page even more memorable.. on the flap, I created “sandpaper” around the photos with sand that actually came from the beach. Brush the page with liquid adhesive, and sprinkle on the dry sand. Let dry, and brush off the excess.

Post your Easier-Than-Ever layout in the gallery, or leave a link to your blog and I will post my faves here on the blog. And don’t forget to order your copy today.

*If you are still waiting for your copy to arrive, no sweat! Just post your favorite easy layout idea or tip!

Last week we hosted the Challenge of the Week – use something “old” from your stash and make it look new.

In these tough economic times using what we have has become en vogue. Luckily, there is plently of crafty goodness to be had online. (a lot of not so good stuff too) So this week’s World Wide Inspired is my current list of Crafty Web Freebies!

1. Free online classes – JessicaSprague.com is offering a free photo editing class this month. And while you are there, check out some of her other free classes and digital kits.

2.Creating Keepsakes is hosting a free Summer Camp with daily classes, inspiration, and more! For more details visit the CreatingKeepsakesBlog.

3.Download a free project from one of my favorite bloggers, Shimmelle. She has some great projects and ideas of all kind.

4. Free Downloads- Did you know that the Paper Crafts team has new “Simple Sentiments” with every issue? You can download and print them here.

5.Photo Actions – Free HIGH QUALITY actions for Photoshop at the Light’s Right studio.

6.Don’t forget about Free Font Friday!

7.Digital Downloads from papers to embellishments and templates – from the instructors of the Digital Scrapbooking Experience coming later this year.

8. I had to add this great post by Nicole Heady. She gives step by step instructions for creating a crochet flower embellishment and has links to other very cool budget friendly projects!

Now your turn…

These colorful “Kids Kuffs” are both “green” and fun! Start by saving your paper cores. (the ones in the middle of TP are the best)

Putting them together is really easy.

Cut the paper core into 2″ widths and cut to make an opening.

Adhere paper and embellishments to cover the paper tube. (note: if you are using brads, be sure to adhere them to the decorative paper BEFORE adhering to the tube. That way, the brad back will be sandwiched between the paper and the tube.)

My girls like to have little parties inviting all their friends. I just set out all the supplies in the middle of the table, and let them go at it!

This project was even published in Paper Crafts for Kids. An idea book chock full of ideas to keep the little ones busy!

One thing that summer means to me… FLIP FLOPS! I Love Flip Flops. I especially love that they are available in every color, style, and at times cost only a $1.
One thing that summer means to me… FLIP FLOPS! I Love Flip Flops. I especially love that they are available in every color, style, and at times cost only a $1. I decided to get into my stash of ribbon ends… those little leftover pieces too short to tie… and embellish these $1 flip flops.

1. Brush your favorite ribbon with Ribbonstiff. Let dry. (the ribbons I used here are all Strano Designs ribbon)

2. Using your favorite punch or die cut system, cut out the desired number of flowers.

3. Adhere the flowers to the top of your flip flop using hot glue. OR if you want to be able to change it up a little, build your flowers onto a piece of velcro, and add a velcro dot to the top of the sandal, that way, you can change at will!

4. Add just a touch of BLING. You can use a permanent glue, but I like to use Hot Fix crystals. I find they last longer. I always use real crystals for my wearables.

As the old saying goes… Something OLD, Something New…

One thing that artisans and crafters of all types have in common? Their love of supplies. Scrapbookers, paper crafters, quilters, and sewers all have the habit of “collecting” way more supplies than they could ever use! So this week’s challenge is an easy one.

Create a project of your choice using OLDER supplies. Of course for some of us, older supplies mean stuff in our stash that is literally 10 years old. For some, it may only be a couple years. What ever it is for you… have fun. Dig deep and challenge yourself. Perhaps an old paper or sticker, old tools that were once the hottest thing that is now collecting dust, an old pattern you never got around to creating, some fabric that was always too cool to use…

Post ideas and links to your finished samples here or on the message boards and I will post my faves through out the week!

To get the ideas flowing check out some of these inspiring ideas!
