I would like to join the pot holder swap but being new to the site I couldn't find where to signup for the swap.
Can you please tell me where to do this.
Thanks

I have seen these exchanges on blogs and always wondered how to get involved in one. I am looking forward to this challenge.
Here is another free tutorial for a pieced pot holder
How can I be sure I really signed up?
This is the fabric I purchased for my pot holder(s). I am so inspired by the fabric- I have several designs in mind. I can't wait to get started. I would love to see what other sewers are up to.
I started my potholder last night. One question for everyone. I have been sewing for many years but I am new to quilting. Wondering if everyone is using the heat resistant batting inside or just several layers of cotton?
I am leaning towards the heat resistant batting with an additional cotton layer on my pieced side. I am wondering if I should be concerned about quilting all those layers and if I should adjust the width of my binding.
Thoughts?

Wendy,
I used Quilted ThermaFlec batting from VogueFabrics.com, because it doesn't require any additional batting. Another option is Insul-Bright, which you could pair with a cotton batting (Insul-Bright can be purchased at Joanns or Hancocks). I hope this is helpful. I can't wait to see your pictures!
thanks Jory. I bought therma flec batting becuase my local quilting store was out of insulbright. Good to know that I only need one layer. thanks for your help.

These are the material for my potholder. Very excited about starting this project! :-)
SweetAngel,
Nice- I really like those fabrics too!
Here are the fabrics I used. My potholder is going to ship today. Can't wait to show the finished product once Bridget (via Jessica) receives it.

Look what I received today!!! I absolutely love the pot holder Jackie created for me. She said this was her first swap, and I think she did a great job. She even did some handstitching on the back! I LOVE IT! THANKS Jackie!
Started the potholder tonight. Question: am I suppose to make one potholder or more than one? I'm new to this process and I want to get it right.
Love the chevron prints and can't wait to see the finished potholder!
vabney0353, you only need to make one! Thanks for asking!
The potholder is complete and soon to be mailed. I'm not a quilter, so this was an interesting project... Good for a beginning attempt...Fun!
Mine is finished and ready to send, too! I also posted a tutorial on the Sew News blog: http://www.sewnews.com/blogs/sewing/2012/11/13/scrap-busting-holiday-potholder-tutorial/
My potholder is complete and will ship out by Friday. I hope lizangel enjoys it. This was my first swap. I hope they continue with different swaps. Would love to see a pincushion swap.
This was fun. Any chance you would consider adding this as an event on your facebook then we can all get updates through facebook instead of this website. Just a thought.

I have finished my pot holder. It will be in the mail soon.I would love to post a photo...but I do more sewing then computer things. I'm pretty much at loss as to how to do that.
Shipped by UPS this evening.
Shipped my potholder out yesterday. I forgot to take a picture of it. Maybe Liz can post one when she receives it.
Just finished my potholder :-(. It looks just like a total beginner did it, which I am. This is my first time swaping, quilting, making a potholder, etc. It is not my first time sewing though, but I am still terrible at it :-). I might try making another one before sending it and sadly it will not be as elaborate as others I have seen but I hope Rose likes it :-D.

I finished my pot holder and mailed it. This is my first swap and first pot holder. It does look as though a beginner did it. However from a far distance, it does not look too bad! I had fun making my pot holder so, I am making them for Christmas presents.
Jessica.your pot holder is on its way.
These just arrived from my swap buddy vabney0353 and they are fabulous! I'm so excited to use them as I'm cooking for Thanksgiving tomorrow. I love the addition of soft yellow in the palette and it was so nice to get two potholders!
Thank you so much! Let me know when you've received mine and happy sewing!
Received my lovely Christmas designed potholder... THANKS!!! <3 it.
