Home Workers for real?

Has anyone tried sewing for any of the advertisers claiming one can earn good money sewing at home for the company? If so, are they on the up and up? Rev. Diane

When I lived back in PA a few years ago, the local Phila NBC affiliate did a story on those "work at home assembling" type of jobs that are constantly seen in papers. what they uncovered was that the companies do indeed send the materials needed and some basic instructions on what they wanted done. But the time limit that they imposed for getting the finished work back to them was just not acheivable and the quality of materials they sent out was poor at best. Then the company expects the worker to return the finished product to them at the workers expense for inspection, where they "faulted" the work received and only paid for the finished pieces that they found acceptable. Now the TV station had hired a professional to do the work and the pro had said and the camera showed that the pieces received (by the worker) were cut short (from the manufactor) or where shoddy at best. The worker did the best they could with this substandard material and worked like a dog for a week, working upwards of 12 hours a day to get the count finished that the supplier expected. When the items were returned to the supplier, most were rejected! So the worker did not get "great pay working at home" but rather by the time the 60 hours (working 12 hours a day for 5 days) was figured in AND the cost to return the products to the manufactor figured, made about $10 a DAY! It cost more than that for the thread and electric the worker went thru!

I do not know if all are like that, but suspect most are. Their game seems to be to turn a willing worker who for what ever reason can't get out, into a sweat shop employee in their own home!
